Ø + noto – mikro makro

Description

a cooperation between finnish musician mika vainio aka Ø, member of pan sonic, and german artist carsten nicolai aka noto.

originally concepted as part of an installation to be seen simultaneously in germany, finland and poland, the tracks transport the thoughts of the installation and their reflexions about micro- and macrostructures in an absolut equal manner.

inspired by sound examples of a magnet resonance tomograph and radio telescope recordings from a pulsar, the four tracks are restricted to very simple and reduced patterns and rasters – to understand as an attempt to reach the bottom of the ground.

a re-issue of the »mikro marko« compact disc was included in the book »time examined« (r-n109), published in february 2010.
